Volunteer Activities
The success of our organization is due to the dedication and support of our volunteers. We are an all-volunteer organization—there are no paid positions. Volunteer opportunities abound, and you will feel appreciated and know that you are contributing to the future of our students and the enrichment of our teachers.
BE A JUDGE!
Judges are the lifeblood of the science fair. As a judge, you will participate on a team of judges, watching the presentations of several participants, and then grading them along a select set of criteria.
What does being a Judge Involve?
Individuals with a background in sciences, engineering, or mathematics are needed to serve as judges for the 25th Annual Connecticut Science, Technology, and Engineering and Mathematics Fair (CT-STEM Fair). We plan to create Zoom judging sessions as the feedback from live interaction is the main benefit of the CT-STEM fair. Effective judges listen carefully, ask insightful questions, and offer positive feedback.
There will be two judging sessions. You can participate in one or both. We expect there will be about 100 student project proposals from several area high schools. There is a 30-minute lunch break.
